I am enamoured by the concept and practice of Community Kitchens. All sorts of different people coming together to cook, feed themselves and feed their families. There is no better way to develop the cooperative, community spirit than by cooking together. In 1999, I worked as a volunteer editor for their cookbook Many Hands. It's still available and the recipes are formatted to feed small groups, or large crowds. It is one of the things I've volunteered for that I am most proud of.
